Amanda is a nine-year-old American girl. She lives on a US Military base in Germany with her parents and her four siblings. Amanda’s Dad is a soldier. Since she was born, the family has been stationed in Alaska and Georgia. For one year, they have lived in Wiesbaden, Germany. The US housing village is like a real American town in the middle of Germany.

The Army base is Amanda’s world. But one day, she realizes she feels trapped. She wants to leave and get to know the world on the other side of the fence. Pulling all her courage together, she begins a journey all by herself and discovers the country at the end of the road.

AMANDA AND THE COUNTRY AT THE END OF THE ROAD was produced for the children’s program „Schau in meine Welt!“ ("Look into my world!”) of the TV channel KiKA.
