The girl with the long hair2019
Janne is eleven years old and has very long hair. A few years ago, she learned that there are children that have no hair and that are longing to have a wig. So Janne decided to let her hair grow. Once they are long enough, she begins to search for a girl that wants to have her hair. She finds Anouk. Anouk, who is fourteen years old, has lost her hair, eyelashes and eyebrows because of an autoimmune disease called Alopecia areata or Jonston’s alopecia. What happens between two girls when one of them wants to give her hair to the other? "The Girl with the Long Hair" is a deeply touching documentary about giving and taking, about discrimination and beauty and about the gift of helping others. The film was produced for the children’s program „Schau in meine Welt!“ (‘’Look into my world!”) of the TV channel KiKA. With over 3 million viewers on YouTube, it has been an inspiration to countless kids and teenagers.
